Why Joy and Not Happiness

Happiness is an externally based acquisition. In other words, what’s happening outside of myself helps determine my level of happiness. Someone gives me a gift. I’m happy. I eat chocolate cake, I’m super happy. I get a raise. I’m happy. Happiness is not a constant. Happiness is a fluctuation throughout our lives like sadness. It’s part of the journey. Joy is internal. We have access to it all the time. You can access it whenever you want. It’s independent of your outside circumstances. You can always choose Joy.  An example would be: there’s a natural disaster. People lose their homes, they lose everything. And through their tears, some will say, “But we’re still here. We’ll be alright.” That’s a choice. That’s choosing positivity. Always choose pursuing JOY. And if you’d like to have more joy and learn how we do it, at least once a week, come hang out with us. We’d love to hear your ways of walking through it all too! If you missed an episode, not to worry, you can always catch the replay or listen to the podcast. And if you can, please join us on the Livestream on Thursdays, at 6pm PST. Hope to see you there!
